Carl Arendt

I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the immeasurable contribution that our friend, Carl Arendt made to the world of minimum gauge and micro layouts. He was tireless in his promotion and truly inspired in his work. I miss Carl and urge you to explore his contributions at carendt.us if you have not already done so. Goodbye Carl, we miss you.

Some changes to the line-up...

As of August 31, 2010, some items will be discontinued and others will be changed. The following kits will no longer be available for order after the end of August. #510 (Outhouse), #514 (George Wickett Feed & Seed), #518 (Coal Silo),#515 and 515A (2 Stall Stone Engine House and Engine House Set),#511 (Yard Shed), #503 (Poured Concrete Loading Ramp), #504 (Cut Stone Loading Ramp), #505 (Wood Frame Loading Ramp). These kits are being discontinued because I am phasing out Hydrocal (too much breakage in shipping)and demand does not warrant new moulds for resin casting. The following kits will be changed to include all resin parts. #516 and #517 (Blacksmith Shop and Interior), #520 (Red's Tools), #521 Doney & Giddy Men's Furnishings)and #506 (Narrow Gauge Tender Water Tank). If you would like any of the these kits in their present form, please be sure to order before August 31 as no orders will be taken after that time.

The castings

Please note that all of our castings come unpainted - as in the photo to the right.

You can find painting tips on our FAQ page.

Shopping

We hope you'll find shopping a simple process on the site. Just choose the category of casting you're interested in (clicking on a category heading will give you all castings in that category) and then press the Add to Basket link for any items you'd like. This will show you your shopping cart, where you can adjust the quantities required. To remove items from your basket, either change the quantity to 0 or wipe the entire basket by pressing the Empty Basket link in the menu to the left.

Payment Options

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discovery, American Express and eCheck via our Paypal account.

Alternatively, you can print out the final order form and post it to us together with cheque (in Canadian dollars) to the address at the top of the page.

Photographs

Do you have one (or hopefully more) of our castings on your layout? Would you like to share your handiwork with others? We're planning to add a gallery to this site and would love to see what you've done with our castings. We'd prefer JPEG photos, no larger than 640 by 480 pixels. Please send them - together with some information about you and your layout - to gallery@SchombergScaleModels.com.

Feedback and Ideas

As we mention on the About Us page, what we produce is driven by what we're asked to produce. If you have any feedback or ideas, please drop us an email to feedback@SchombergScaleModels.com.
